Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 11/06/2008

Number: 2000

The monarchs roosted in the subdivision of Granjas Residenciales. There were thousands. The temperature was about 22 degrees when they started landing at about 5pm local time. It was dark by 6:30 so it was difficult to see more.
At 7 in the morning on the 7th, I could still se a few in the trees, bit most had gone. the temperature was 13C at ground level in the morning. (click on video to load and play)

Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 2000 monarchs based on observer’s estimate of “thousands.”
