Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 11/07/2008

Number: 1

Several small, loose clusters were forming along the 3/4 mile peninsula to the north end of the Lavaca Bay Causeway after 5:00 this afternoon, along with many singltons. Most were forming on brushy false-willow, some on salt cedar, all right along the high tide line. They were able to find some false-willow with foliage that had survived the salt water from the tidal surge of Hurricane Ike. Found a few nectaring on Camphor Daisy on other side of penninsula. It has been almost calm from the north today, clear, 70, 48 in the morning. I've missed alot!
