We went back to check on the plants we are observing in our backyard in October. It was 30 degrees colder than when we went in September. Caitlin and Sophie found the leaves on the honeysuckle were harder and crunchier. The berries turned black. They think they might be poisonous because no animals ate them. Lucas and Jacob also saw that it lost some leaves. Savannah and Cole saw there were lots of long pine cones around the bottom of the pine tree. Charlie and Laura saw that the pokeweed looked dead. The stem was not in the ground. All the berries were gone. The roots are not on the stem. Are they still under the ground? Alexandra and Keyaira saw that all the sweet cherry leaves were on the ground. Kylee and Jupiter could see more branches. Margo and Casey saw that all the yellow flowers on their plant turned brown and the plant was no longer standing up. Brian and Julia saw all the leaves were off the white mulberry.
