Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/12/2008

Number: 1

We planted our tulip garden on the edge of the woods. We had to clear the area of trees and weeds first! We planted 50 of our 150 bulbs. We are going to plant 50 more next week and then 50 more the first week of December. We want to find out if planting them at different times will affect the emerging and blooming time of the plants. Most of us think that it will affect growing time, with the first ones planted coming up first because they had more time in the ground. Only 2 students think that different planting times will not affect the tulips. They think that the tulips will all emerge at the same time because they are the same type of plant and they need colder weather. We also have other types of tulips to plant to compare growth to our Red Emperor tulips.
