Student Council members in fourth and fifth grade planted 50 Red Emperor tulip bulbs around the peace pole at University Liggett School in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan on November 10.
At noon, the temperature of the air was in the upper 60's. The soil temperature was about 10 degrees cooler at 56 degrees F. The holes were prepared by our landscape specialist to ensure proper depth and spacing for this project. The boys and girls enjoyed planting the bulbs as part of their service to the school and are looking forward to seeing and sharing the results as the tulips emerge this spring.
