We have a flock of about 12 turkeys that live around our acreage. Sunday, the turkeys all froze as they were feeding in the lawn. Suddenly, one of them grabbed a garter snake. They fought back and forth over possession of the snake, stealing it from each other several times. The turkey in possession of the snake would flail it against the ground/gravel driveway until it was finally killed. The last turkey to have the snake threw back his head and swallowed it whole! I had no idea turkeys would attack, kill, and eat snakes!
