Signs of Fall

Date: 11/14/2008

Number: 1

Today’s temperature is 60 degrees F and there was a slight breeze. We could not believe that it was still foggy at 1:00pm! Stratus clouds cover the sky, it has been raining and the ground is moist. There is dew on the grass and spider webs. We heard a woodpecker, crows, crickets and a small, unknown bird. We saw a snail, spider, squirrel, and squirrel nest. There are many leaves on the ground. Most of the yellow leaves are gone from the tulip poplars. Other colors we saw are: red, rust, orange, brown, and purple. The evergreens are still green. A few hearts-a-bursting are still hanging on and we saw a couple of partridgeberries. Today we saw a resurrection fern for the first time and it was green.
