A black chinned hummingbird-looked like green on back and lighter on chest warbled at me from hisperch riht above my head in a tree as I opened my car door near his roost. There are numerous food plants nearby. I am not sure if he is claiming the Bird of paradise, the California poppies, or the sage plants as his territory.
