Tulips PLANTED

Date: 12/03/2008

Number: 1

Our class planted our tulips on December 3, 2008. The beginning of the day was nice, but it turned rainy, muddy, and cold as we were planting. The temperature was about 37 degrees Fahrenheit (2.77 celsius). Together we decided on a southeast location near our school building, with a few plants in the area. We dug 6-8 inches deep. In some areas it was difficult to dig because of clay and rocks. We wonder if rocks, clay, and some roots will affect the growth of our tulips. Our class was also concerned about planting the tulips close to the building, but we found good soil there. We plan on conducting experiments to answer questions we have. Even though it was hard and dirty work, we still had a lot of fun.
