Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 12/15/2008

Number: 1

My little guy who I thought had finally left was out yesterday trying to feed from his frozen feeder. We have snow and ice with freezing temps. and he showed up. I quickly cleaned out his feeder and made new food and put it out. He came back later in the day and ate. I got a great picture of him which I wish I could share with all of you.

12/21 Update

Our little guy is getting quite friendly. He flys in to eat as soon as we get his feeder out around 7:45am and hangs out all day until around 5:00 and then he flys into our big tree for the night. We have a foot of snow and it doesn't seem to faze him. We have had him everyday now for two weeks.

12/28 Update

Our snow is finally melting and it isn't as cold, so I can now leave the feeder out for our little hummingbird. He survived the horrible cold conditions and snow we have had for almost two weeks. We see him everyday and he seems to be doing fine.
