I went out on my patio on New Years Day and was surprised to hear a Robin sing. I looked around and saw a lone Robin near the top of a tree. He sang a few notes and then left in a few minutes. It is now the 14th of January and I haven't seen him or any others since then.
We are getting some winter colored gold finches at our finch feeder and an abundance of other birds including many cardinals.
It is still very cold, but spring is on the way.
