I heard my first Robin of the season singing in front of my house while I was picking up the newspaper this morning.

Yes, I can confirm I heard an American Robin territorial song last week in front of my house. I've been listening to robin territorial songs since the early 1970s when I did Breeding Bird censuses in Arizona and Colorado for Willet T. Van Veltzen with the USFWS.

Do I think the songster was on territory? I don't know. He was singing the territorial defense song.
