On the 23rd of January, about 9:45 a:m, I observed my first BALD EAGLE of 2009. It was an adult, flying fairly low, along the north shore of the St-Lawrence R., heading North-East.
Maybe, it had been perched on the tree of the 'quai du Cap' (the Cap's wharf), at Trois-Rivieres. But when I noticed it, I couldn't tell if it was flying slowly, or if it had just taken flight.
It reminded me of the 'P.88' bird that visited us the same way nearly, just one year ago,... but P.88 was not mature, then.
My presence made it fly off shore, and as water was steaming,
(-17°C.), I lost sight of it.
There was no way of knowing if it had a band, or not.
