We very surprised when going outside to our garden to check air and soil temperatures with the computer probe, when we discovered that our tulips had emerged.

Last year's third graders' tulips were about 3-4 inches tall, this year's third graders' tulips were just breaking the soil surface. It is still so cold for the northwest that it was definitely unexpected.
