Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/23/2009

Number: 1

Last year we saw a wave of Robins in Feb. This year we saw two huge flocks of Robins on Jan. 23, 2009! The trees were filled. They are still around in the maple trees in our backyard. We usually have Robins stay all winter but the amount we saw this winter was outstanding. We had Robins nest in a basket attached to the wall on the front porch in which they laid 4 eggs (all hatched) and also in a nest under our deck in which she laid 4 eggs. We took lots of pictures and it was amazing to watch them so closely. They came around noon and stayed perched in the trees all day. They looked so fat and some came to drink out of our heated water dish.
