Chrysalis in carport, attached to siding overhang. Saw what appeared to be a Monarch approximately 4-5 weeks ago, before we had another unsustained overnight freezing temp. It flitted about the garden, but I didn't see it after that day. Then, today, the chrysalis was spied. I will observe it periodically, to see when it will hatch. Milkweed is also growing, and hopefully will support a hatchling upon its emergence. I would be disappointed if it turned out to be left over from previous season and not viaable. But will report later. The chrysalis is more solid than transparent green.
