We have been observing plants in our backyard each month. Here is what we noticed in January. Caitlin and Sophie noticed that the honeysuckle's berries are shriveled and brown. They look dead. The branches had some cracks in them. They wonder if it will grow again. Lucas noticed when he broke some branches off he could see some green inside but when he broke one branch it had brown dots. He thinks the green branches are still alive, but the brown branch is not.Savannah and Cole are watching the Red Pine tree. They saw there are no more pine cones on the ground. Pieces of bark were on the ground. The bark breaks easy and is changing colors. There are holes in the bark. They wonder how they got there. Charlie and Laura are looking at Pokeweed. They saw there are only 4 leaves left. They think they are dead because they are all brown. They wonder where the roots are and if it will grow back in the spring. Alexandra and Keyaira saw that you can peel the bark now off the Sweet C
