Talk about coincidence! We had our first sighting of emerged shoots on Thursday, February 5, 2009--the exact day we spotted them last year. I thought the weather had been colder than last year, so we really weren't expecting them this early. We're sending a team out to the garden to get an accurate count of how many have emerged this week, though, since the temperature has been so mild. We can't wait for the blooms and only hope they don't come while we're on spring break in early March.
