We have had a recent 4 to 5 day push of southerly winds and unseasonably warm air in the midwest this week. I heard the red wings yesterday while walking, but today saw 4 on my bird feeders, and several more in the marshes around the neighborhood. Heard them making their spring song of Kon-Ka-Ree. Always a nice sound to hear serving as a reminder that winter is on the down swing. Love seeing that brilliant flash of red too.
