Tulips EMERGED

Date: 02/12/2009

Number: 1

Today’s temperature is 50 degrees F. 33 bulbs have emerged. That is almost 5 times as many as last week! Our shortest tulip is .5 cm and the tallest is 4.5 cm. The tallest tulip was the last to be planted and the shortest tulip was the first to be planted. We must let our tulips grow more to find out if planting them at different times affects their growth.
In our unofficial gardens the tulip on the nature trail is the same height. We put one clay pot inside and 1 tulip emerged. However, the clay pot left outside had 2 tulips emerge! The metal pot of tulips (not red emperor) have grown – tallest is 4.5cm and the shortest 2cm. It is interesting that these tulips have grown so fast compared to our official garden!
