Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/10/2009

Number: 1

We arrived home after school and work on 2/10/09 to find a small flock of Robins in and around our yard. We live in a rural area, so our home is surrounded by fields and marshes. We are about 15 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. I reported this to my co-worker who is part of the local bird watcher's club. This morning (2/13/09) he reported that when he got home yesterday there was a large flock of Robins along with a flock of Cedar Wax Wings eating in his back yard shrubbery. Another co-worker had told him that he saw many flocks of robins one afternoon recently flying over his house. They were flying south, but it was evening and they may have been going to a central place to roost. We both commented that we had not seen or heard Robins here this winter until this week.
