Although I haven’t personally sighted any yet this year myself as many as twelve pairs are now in the vicinity of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse NY. Amazing as Onondaga was once the most polluted body of water in these United States. Last year I was lucky enough to have seen 5 individual birds on the ice and one of the pairs was in a mating ritual. Pretty amazing to see also.
