We have had a few robins overwinter around the farm here, but today after almost 5" of snow fall, there are hundreds gathered. They are feeding on the Hackberry trees, but also gathering in trees around the house when we walk outside. Some are seen eating snow, but they also seem to be flocking in trees around the small lake here that just thawed, so are probably storing up on water there. A number of grackles are mixed in with them, and they are perching alongside our usual winter birds that hover near the house. Beautiful!
