Rod and Joan Parrott of Port Hope, Ontario, spotted one monarch yesterday, Feb. 15/09, near their summer quarters in Punta Gorda, Florida. Temperatures there have been cool, but reached into the 70's F today.


The Parrotts reported that they are now beginning to see other butterfly species. They saw the first Viceroy they have ever seen in this area yesterday, along with gulf fritillaries and zebra swallowtails.
