Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/11/2009

Number: 1

Yes! At my backyard bird feeder last week (2/11) I saw two male red-wing blackbirds. I had to look sharp because their wing epaulets were barely visible -- pale yellow just showing, but no orange bars in sight. They were eating black-oil sunflower seed. Our lakes, rivers and swampy areas are all still frozen solid.
