We here in Northern New Jersey are being inundated with goldfinches for the last few weeks, incredible flocks of 50 to 100 birds at a time around feeders and on the ground are being reported by many people. . Mixed in with them are large amounts of pine siskins who have come further south than normal in search of food because of a pine cone seed shortage. It is quite incredible to see!!
