I was hiking along the Little Blue River a half mile north of the little town of Deweese, Nebraska and saw two bald eagles in a tall tree overlooking the blue. The river was partly frozen, but it was running just below the eagles. They stayed quite a while as we tried to get a little closer to take a picture. Then one flew on down the river. When we got about a hundred yards from the other one, it flew a few blocks down the river. We followed it, but it kept flying a little ahead of us and finally flew out of sight.
