I drove out to Johnsons Lake just a few miles south of Lexington, Nebraska on a Sunday afternoon. The lake was frozen, except for a few thawed holes near the dam on the south end of the lake. There were two bald eagles in a large tree near there. They stayed in the tree as long as we were there. I took some pictures, but couldn't get as close as I would have liked. We went a little farther to the east near what is called the J-2 Power Plant, I believe, but couldn't get close enough to the outlet to verify any sightings there, although that is a terrific place, usually, to see them.
