An active hummingbird nest about eight feet from ground in our ficus tree. At least one hatchling observed. Female endured very stormy and cool weather and we installed a feeder in an opposite tree which she visits frequently. We have a lot of other flowers/flowering shrubs and fruit trees on the property. The nestling(s) is about one week old. She stopped visiting the nest yesterday due to cats in the environs - we eliminated their access today and she immediately returned.
