I witnessed 3 flocks of Sandhill cranes flying from the south to the north. Two flocks flew fairly close together and the third followed about 10 minutes behind. They were constantly chatting with each individual in their flock. They are absolutely gorgeous birds with a sweet song. I missed their fall migration last year, but was greatful to see their return. I thought it was a little early for their flight home, but then again the weather hasn't been all that bad. All I can say is....WOW!!! What a sight!
