Today our class went outside to observe our tulip garden. It was a warm day and the temperature was about 50 degrees Fahrenheit and windy. The smallest sprouts were rusty brown like the bulbs we planted in Oct. The bigger sprouts (4 cm. tall) look like reddish spikes coming out of the mucky wet dirt. We counted approximately 40 out of the 200 bulbs. We made different hypotheses about our observations. We wondered if they emerged now because our weather has been warmer lately. We predict the plants will be 50 cm tall. We also predict that they will bloom by Achievement Test time. (April 27th)
