Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/01/2009

Number: 1

A few have been around for a week of so but the last couple of days brought a horde of grackles, starlings, redwing blackbirds and cowbirds, male, female and juvenile redwings--the redwings number at least 30, the horde totals at least 100 birds, dropping from the sky to the feeders and pond like black rain, cleaning up every last scrap of food!! A big snow is predicted for tomorrow, it will be a tough day for them!
