In Danbury CT, 06811 on Sunday, 3/1, we had a flock of at least 80 ‘black birds’ about 65% Grackles a few Cowbirds and the remainder were Red-wings including some females. I’ve not seen such a large percentage of red wings in a flock before. It was wonderful seeing the red shoulder patches as the settled in the yard around the feeders.
