We are experiencing a typical late winter here in Middle Tennessee. We may have a long period of very cold weather followed by four or five days of sunny, 65 degree weather. Then it will become very cold again. This can be quite confusing for our tulips. Today, about 40 percent of our tulips emerged and greeted the third graders of St. Matthew School. Some of the students predictions were spot on for the date of emerging. We wonder when the red blooms will appear and how tall the plants will become. Time will tell.
