We have been watching bald eagles in this area for the last several years. In Feb, a pair decided to build a nest next to the Whitewater River, a few miles south of Harrison, OH. We've been observing the nest building activity and mating behavior, and we're hoping for eggs soon.
The other day they left the nest, began soaring and circling over our heads, higher and higher, and joined a pair of red tailed hawks, all soaring together. I used to think the red tails were large: Not any more!
We've also observed several juvenile eagles in the vicinity (according to a local naturalist, there are three)
