A flock of several RR blackbirds were mixed among the typical robins in a horse pasture at the end of my road in Macon Co., North Carolina. It was a lovely sight to behold their blackest-velvet and epaulets.
This was approximately 4 p.m. in the afternoon, Tuesday, Mar., 3, 2009. There is a nearby brush-covered stream, which serves as a branch of Matlock Creek, which spills into Cowee Creek and finally into the Little Tennessee River. -afm
