Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/05/2009

Number: 1

Today’s temperature was 51 degrees F. Twenty-eight more of our tulips have emerged for a total of 84. We should have 31 more bulbs to emerge, if an animal hasn’t eaten them! Our shortest tulip is .2 cm and the tallest is 8 cm. A different tulip has beaten the height of the tallest one that we have measured for 3 weeks. One of the tulips in the metal pot inside our classroom (not red emperor) has started to bloom! The plant is 13.5 cm tall. The clay pot tulips (red emperor) outside are 3 and 2 cm tall. The clay pot tulips inside are 3.5 and 6 cm tall. Our microclimate tulip, planted by our classroom window has emerged and is 3 cm tall. We are eagerly waiting to see which one will bloom first!
