This is only the second documented record of this hybrid ANYWHERE. (One parent was a rufous hummingbird and the other was an Anna's.)

The last was in Eugene, Oregon last year.

I first detected this male hummingbird 24 February 2009, but only confirmed its identity today(2/26). I only put the feeder up in the last five days, so I can't say if it is a resident or recent migrant. The first of the year male Rufous Hummingbird showed up today too. RUHU x ANHU hybrids are quite rare.
