Very strong south winds blew all day and what should appear on the lawn at my brother's house but a wave of migrating robins. There were over two dozen and all were feeding busily in the grass. They did not spread out across the meadow but stayed on the area that's mowed as lawn in the summer where the grass is shorter. I heard several singing but it was a very muted song, not the clear song they'll sing when they reach their breeding territories.
