Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/09/2009

Number: 1

I saw 1 in Tequisquiapan yesterday (March 9). Hundred of monarchs were sighted today around 12:00 flying over San Juan del Rio, Queretaro, Mexico. The weather is getting quite warm. Temperatures are about 40 F in the morning and reach 85 F in the afternoon. The weather has been dry here, but there are many trees blooming and there are many flowers blooming. New milkweed plants are about 6 inches tall and flowering. Some of my plants that survived the winter are over a foot tall and flowering also.
