Tulips EMERGED

Date: 03/12/2009

Number: 1

This last week March 3, the third graders measured tulip leaves. Last year's tulip leaves were already 9 l/2 inches tall. Our current tulip leaves were between 1 and 3 inches tall. We asked why were last year's growth taller? We also wondered if our few days of snow in March will make a difference. Our soil temperatures are close even with the snows, from 47.4 degrees F in January to 46.6 degrees F. in March.
