Disaster has struck! Our tulips emerged last week. We removed the chicken wire so that the plants could emerge freely. In checking our plants today, we discovered that the deer had eaten all of the emerged tulips and the squirrels had dug up and eaten about five of the bulbs. The chicken wire is back in place. The students are wondering if the emerged tulips that have been eaten will end up blooming. This should be interesting!
