Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/09/2009

Number: 1

On a hiking trail in the Davy Crockett National Forest. Just one Monarch, a male, landed briefly on a leaf. I spooked it trying to get a closer look, and it flew away. When I first spotted it, it was heading toward the sun, roughly SSW. After I startled it, it continued on about the same heading.
