Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 03/14/2009

Number: 1

There were several Monarch butterflies flying around our yard. Everyday my son & 22 month old daughter & I would go outside & watch them. They seemed to really have a connection with my daughter as crazy as it sounds. . . but she is the only one who could get close enough to them to touch them (literally put her little finger to their wing) without them flying away & she would chase them & they'd turn back toward her. . none of us had such luck! Then from one day to the next we saw green, white & black striped caterpillar eating in one of our butterfly gardens, then we saw them hanging from the garden pots, walls & from our garden fountain in a curled up state, the next day it was completely disappeared into a smooth, shiny green cocoon. . . we decided we wanted to learn more about these butterflies & did an online search which led us to you. We are trying to find out what to expect next & taking photos of the process. . .
