Saturday, midmorning while I was feeding the ducks, a wave of red-winged blackbirds flew into the bushes and shrub nearby. There were some females and juvenile, yearling males with more orangeand white shoulder striping than the brilliant red patches of the older adult, male, red-winged blackbirds. They moved down to the reeds and brush near the brook, Lubbers Run, later that morning. Most of them have moved on with only a few that have stayed behind to claim an area by our brook.
