Saw the first Rufous Hummingbird of the season near the window of the house at around 4:30 pm, March 15, 2009, on Orcas Island, WA. He appears to be an adult male. He seemed to be looking for the feeder but we did not see him feeding there at first. The next day, he was seen feeding at the feeder. We have seen him several times since; it is now March 18th. It appears that we are seeing the same solitary bird, so far.
