All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/18/2009

Number: 1

Observation began approximately 3:30 pm in my Northwest Bakersfield neighborhood.
the butterflies (PL) approached from the southeast and made a diagonal
(approximately one and one-half block wide) swatch through the
housing tract and exited to the northwest out over open fields and orchards. They flew in a steady stream about 6 to 8 feet off the ground until they came to a house and they flitted up and over and then back down closer to the ground. The numbers thinned at about 5:30 and by 6:45 were much less noticable.
