Have a family of barn swallows that showed up this afternoon. This is the 3rd year in a row, with many years to come I hope. For the last 2 years there have been 3 batches of babies each season. Lots of swallows in our neighborhood due to pasture and creek behind our street. Last year when the babies started to fly, the swallows from our neighborhood gathered and flew up and down the street and perched on the cable/ telephone wires with them on that day. There were 5 babies and their parents from my porch plus approx 9 other swallows for the first flight party.
