I live on New Jerseys largest lake and there was a beautiful Bald Eagle soaring and swooping down to the lake yesterday afternoon. It was about 20 feet off shore (my dock). I have seen bald eagles in the Canadian Rockies and there is not a doubt in my mind what I saw! I verified it on the web with multiple pictures and since my sunporch is situated high off
the lake I had a wonderful view of the bird for about 15-20 minutes. It was chased off by first one and then two smaller birds (perhaps osprey) who kept following it and swooping closer and closer. It flew south from my home still over the lake. My wife enjoyed the sighting with me. We are 35+/- miles from the Delaware Water Gap and I know that there are eagles there.
