All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 03/21/2009

Number: 1

Even though we are still having snowstorms the birds know it's spring! There have been a pair of Canada Geese and a pair of Black Ducks in the tiny open space in the lake ice where the water runs in. From the hill we can see that the stillwater is open on the other side of Lake Jerry.
The first Fox Sparrow arrived on the 22nd of March. A Redwinged Blackbird and a Grackle were spotted in Princedale on the 21st a(about 20 minutes from here)
Have heard the Barred owls courting otside my bedroom window (at 2:00 am!)
